2 Day Paediatric First Aid Blended

This course is in line with the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and meets the needs of Ofsted. It is suitable for Childminders, Nursery and School Staff (dealing with Foundation Stage) and anybody who deals with children and wants a more in-depth course.

What Is Blended Learning?

Day 1 is completed online, you can either complete this in a day or complete this over a few bite-size sessions, as long as it is completed prior to the Day 2 classroom session.

 

Minimum contact teaching hours apply to this qualification

In order to comply with Ofsted requirements state the course must be delivered over a minimum of 12 hours.

 

Course Content:

Classroom - Be able to assess an emergency situation and prioritize what action to take ~Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and breathing normally ~Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally including AED ~ Help a baby or child who is having a seizure ~ Help a baby or child who is choking ~ Help a baby or child who is bleeding ~ Help a baby or child who is suffering from shock caused by severe blood loss (hypovolemic shock) ~ Help a baby or child who is suffering from anaphylactic shock ~ Help a baby or child who has had an electric shock ~ Help a baby or child with head, neck or back injuries ~ Help a baby or child having: a diabetic emergency; an asthma attack; an allergic reaction.

 

Online - Help a baby or child who has burns or scalds ~ Help a baby or child who has a suspected fracture ~ Help a baby or child who is suspected of being poisoned ~ Help a baby or child with an eye injury & foreign body in eyes, ears or nose ~ Help a baby or child with a bite or sting ~ Help a baby or child who is suffering from the effects of extreme heat or cold ~ Help a baby or child having meningitis / sickle cell anemia and/or febrile convulsions ~ Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider (including appropriate contents of a first aid box and the need for recording accidents and incidents)

 

Duration:

The practical session is 1 day – held at our training center. The online training must be completed before the practical session – this needs to be within 6 weeks.

 

Qualification:

Certificate valid for 3 years.

Fully meets Ofsted and EYFS requirements

£625 plus VAT for up to 12 of your team, this includes both the face-to-face and online elements, a work book and a certificate for each delegate (valid for 3 years).

 

Individual Price:

£85 plus VAT. This includes both the face-to-face and online elements, a workbook and a certificate (valid for 3 years).
