Catastrophic Bleeding (including Chainsaw Injuries and Gunshot Wounds): Understand life-saving techniques for severe bleeding incidents.
Hypothermia / Exposure: Recognize and manage cold-related emergencies.
Suspension Injuries: Address injuries related to falls or entanglements.
Lyme’s Disease Awareness: Learn about this tick-borne illness and its symptoms.
Lightning & High Voltage Injuries: Understand the risks associated with electrical hazards.
Casualty Evacuation Planning: Plan and execute safe evacuations in remote environments.
First Aid at Work Course Content:
Health & Safety: Understand safety protocols specific to forestry work.
First Aid Kit Usage: Learn how to effectively use a First Aid kit.
Resuscitation (CPR): For adults.
AED Familiarization: Gain proficiency in using Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
Recovery Position: Know how to position an unconscious person safely.
Choking (Adult): Learn life-saving techniques for choking incidents.
Burns & Scalds: Understand first aid for burns and scalds.
Poisoning (including Anaphylaxis): Recognize and respond to poisoning emergencies.
Shock Management: Learn to recognize and manage shock.
Bleeding (including Catastrophic Bleeding): Address severe bleeding situations.
Head Injuries: Learn about head injury assessment and care.
Fractures, Sprains & Strains: Understand musculoskeletal injuries.
Specific Medical Conditions: Heart Attack, Asthma, Diabetes and Seizures.
Assessment and Certification:
Assessments are conducted by qualified professionals.
Successful delegates receive a certification valid for three years.
Note:
To maintain the validity of the First Aid at Work Certificate, candidates must complete a 2-day refresher course within 3 months before expiry.
